So, this is basically going to be the "Elizabeth whores out her new favorite gadget" post. Enjoy.

Have you tried Google Documents? I was futzing around on Gmail the other day when I saw a link to "Documents." At first, I thought it was just an online storage option - upload your files and access them anywhere you can log in to your Google account.

It's a lot more fun than that. It basically replaces MWord and OpenOffice; it has all of their features bundled in. Also, you can export the files on to your computer's memory in a bunch of different formats (MSWord and OpenOffice included, along with html, txt, etc.). Print format is the same, too. It also has a few online publishing options for people who are interested in the blogging scene (I typed this post in Google documents and published it straight to Livejournal). It's better than carrying my laptop everywhere and easier than constantly e-mailing myself documents I want to work on or making and updating duplicate copies on the memory key I have. I dunno... I like it. I did a lab report on it and it was indistinguishable from the other girls' projects.

You should go play with it, now.

Because I haven't posted in anything in months:

Post a comment and I will...
1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
7. In return, you must post this in your LJ.

I just got back from a weekend in Providence, visiting Elise. Except for the fact that my CRAMPS OF DOOM revisited me this morning, they easily contained the most concentrated happiness since I've gotten to college.

I'm seeing someone about getting hormonal contraceptives tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, this morning will be the last time I have to deal with passing out in a mad dash to the bathroom to throw up (hooray for descriptive imagery).

Also - I'm thinking about my options. I'm thinking that it's a bad sign when the class that's made the biggest impression on me is Biology. I'm thinking that grinding away for years, studying my field of interest, only to deliberately aim for a job in another field once I've graduated is ludicrous. I'm finally realizing that despite unreasonable amounts of innate intelligence, I have never and will never apply myself to the world of academia. I'm thinking that I like to work with my hands.

All of the thinking, of course, will need more time and more research.

I don't really have time tonight, but I'm going to try and make it a rule that I include something that is just completely happy in every one of my posts.

Having vowed to give my audience proper attention and to chronicle my life in detail, I of course failed. I blame this on two things: love and college.

This may be my longest entry, ever.Collapse )

Alright! I’ve ignored my three chapters of biology reading for long enough. Hugs, kisses, and promises to update as regularly as I can.

I finished transferring the last of my Diaryland entries on to my old LJ account; I will not be switching that LJ account's entries on to here, but a link to it is available as my first post and I'm happy with it acting as my archive.

As a part of that process, I noticed something interesting about this journal: my first post was exactly one year before I move in to Barnard. I posted on August 27th, 2006, to introduce this journal to the internet. I am moving to Barnard on August 27th.

Okay, can we talk about my absolutely unsatisfactory sleeping? I really don't think that I'm doing it right anymore, because I can get ten hours of it a night and still feel drowsy.

Can we talk about how much it sucks to have my wallet stolen? Can we then clarify the source of my extreme aggravation by pointing out that I've had my wallet stolen twice before this and my iPod once, as well?

I thought snobby towns like mine weren't supposed to have such a problem with petty theft...Collapse )

We had our first lacrosse game of the season against Norwood. Typically, we won by some pathetically wide margin.

We had a long discussion in English class about what the English department can improve. We're seniors, and all, so Ms. Frick popped in to get our review of the entire high school curriculum.

Really friggin' long - you've been warnedCollapse )
